The Sneaker Speaker plays music wirelessly, from your feet

Portable speakers have come a long way since they were invented. They are no longer something for just having at home, you can take them everywhere. For example the Turtle Shell speaker is so rugged, you can strap it to your bike and take it with you. But up until now, there’s never been a portable speaker that you can strap to your shoes.
It looks like something from the future but the Sneaker Speaker is in fact a portable, wireless speaker you can strap over any pair of shoes. Developed by New York studio, Ray Kingston Inc., these battery powered speakers are held in place on your foot using either one or two straps that can be placed around your ankle. They can be adjusted in a number of ways for optimum comfort and to make sure they don’t fall off. The speaker can be paired using Bluetooth with your cell phone or MP3 player. When you’re not wearing it there’s also an AC input so you can connect it to a stereo jack if you so wish.
The Sneaker Speaker is the first project from Ray Kingston Inc., founded by concept designer Ray Kingston. He says this speaker is a “must have for urban artists who believes in the inspirational power of music”. We agree that the Sneaker Speaker is a “futuristic alternative” for the conventional ways of listening to music but unfortunately the only things it will inspire is angry looks and comments on the subway.
If you do want to share your music with the world using your feet, there’s currently no release date on this product or price just yet. It’s also not made clear how rugged this speaker is can it withstand water and shock? It would need to or it could get easily damaged every time you run or go for a walk in the rain.
